Through analysis of individual patientdatabases (e.g., medical claims, electronic health records, registries, etc.),we may provide key information such as:
  • Treatment patterns and drug utilization
  • Resource utilization
  • The incidence and prevalence of diseases and co-morbidities
  • The incidence of adverse events
  • The impact of various risk factors
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Burden of disease
  • Comparative effectiveness data

Knowing the relationships between patient, drug,clinical and disease factors can significantly aid clients in navigatingpotential drug-event causal relationships as well as in building strongerevidence-based value messages.

As such, we are lookingto hire epidemiologists and health economics and outcomes researchers at variouslevels in Beijing and Shanghai to build this growing team. There are multiple openings, withresponsibilities varying by level of experience. The Role

We are recruiting for positions at Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Associate Director level. Level to be confirmed through interview process and commensurate with the candidates experience.

The Project Manager, Epidemiologymanagesmultiple projects and stakeholders both locally and abroad in support of ourcollaboration with HLT, with tasks varying to degree by project. This includes interactionswith our team of senior managers, epidemiologists, and data analysts workingabroad in our offices in Europe and North America, as well as coordination withboth local partners and pharma and biotech sponsors. Interactions may be in Mandarin or English;some translation will be required to keep all relevant parties informed ofproject progress.

The role includes involvement in scientific design,conduct, and reporting, as well as support in proposal and budget preparation.Projectswill consist primarily of retrospective analyses of existing databases. The successful candidate will assist thePrincipal Investigator with project management scoping, tracking progress anddelegating tasks to the project teams while working on multiple projects.

In addition, the role may involve fact finding andrelationship building with local stakeholders to further develop our Real-WorldEvidence capabilities in Asia-PAC, particularly China.
  • Develops project proposals and project deliverables (protocols, statistical analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, etc.), ensuring timely delivery of drafts of "near completion" status are ready for review.Synthesizes contributions from multiple team members into meaningful deliverables with clear messages.
  • Has a good understanding of data management tasks for directing data analysts in the execution of tasks such as patient selection, variable creation/derivation, and analytical dataset creation
  • Takes role of scientific coordinator in development of initial drafts of project budgets and other business development-related materials.
  • Supervises less experienced researchers
  • Collaborates with otherEviderabusiness units
  • Travels (some national/international travel expected)

Key Consulting Abilities
  • Regularly interacts with clients; coordinates activities between key stakeholders from Evidera, PPD, local partners, and sponsors collaborating in research in AsiaPAC.
  • Demonstrates ability to derive/refine research questions/hypotheses/recommendations relevant to addressing client's research objective(s); ability to identify information relevant to client need (and to filter out irrelevant information).
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills by presenting to senior staff strategies to mitigate or address scientific and operational challenges related to AsiaPAC RWE studies.

Job Qualification:

Qualifications and Experience
  • PhD with related experience; or MSc with significant related experience.
  • Experienced in quantitative methods in epidemiology, health economics or health outcomes research with the focus on data analysis using observational data (e.g. claims data, EMR data, chart review, survey data, clinical trial data) and statistics
  • Fluent spoken and written Mandarin and English.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, prioritization and decision-making skills necessary to evaluate, plan and accomplish multiple work goals in a timely fashion.
  • Able to quickly learn and apply new information, skills and procedures.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly develop and sustain positive rapport with internal and external contacts in person, over the phone and by email.
  • Experience presenting ideas to individuals and groups in a formal presentation setting
  • Able to analyze complex issues and evidence, identify cause-effect relationships, and generate effective solutions. Delivers a positive internal/external client experience; listens and understand the client's needs, and recommends solutions
  • Demonstrates sound professional judgment in analyzing, responding to, and resolving enquiries, issues and escalations.
  • Previous experience in consultancy environment highly desirable, but not essential
  • Working knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R) and MS Office software considered an asset
