Sr Dir Commercial Dev

Provides strategic leadership in commercial pursuits, including the direction and execution of operations and resourcing for an organization of commercial finance professionals to ensure successful preparation, monitoring, and delivery of financial analysis in support of commercial contract negotiations from bidding through contract completion. Provides decision support to executive leadership to facilitate achievement of company financial and commercial objectives, strategic client relationship management, and effective fiscal stewardship and process design and execution.  Key finance team member responsible for driving a first-rate customer experience for the Biopharma account segment.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with an emphasis on finance, accounting, statistics, business intelligence or a similar degree
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12 years).
  • 7 years of management responsibility in a finance, FP&A, bidding or similar role
  • Advanced leadership skills
  • Expert consultancy skills with ability to function as an effective and trusted partner to internal clients at all levels of the organization
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Expert skills in financial modeling and activity-based pricing
  • Skill to develop and communicate financial strategies that align with business priorities 
  • Analytical and quantitative skills
  • Expert business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of – or ability to quickly learn – operational aspects of Phase II-IV clinical research
  • Sophisticated contract management and negotiation skills
  • Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
  • Demonstrated executive presence and proven skill to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Director role with significantly larger management scope (e.g. global or regional responsibilities or multiple departments) OR mastery of director skills and responsibilities as demonstrated by consistent, multi-year successful performance. 
  • Leads through leaders and may manage employees across multiple regions.
