Sr Systems Developer

Working with minimal direction, this position will provide systems analysis, design, development, testing and support for mid-sized to large information systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Identify/document user requirements for small to mid-sized applications
  • Prepare detailed system specifications based on user requirements
  • Develop cost and resource estimates for project
  • Drive solid development practices which allow for ease of maintenance in the future
  • Provide solution alternatives based on understanding of business needs and usage
  • Assistance Oracle DBA, with database design
  • Develop and code system components according to specifications
  • Prepare system documentation, including code reviews, specification document, and test plans
  • Perform unit and system test and, as needed, validation testing
  • Coordinate with Operations staff on deployment of application
  • Provide ongoing support on the application
  • Provide guidance to junior staff in executing systems development responsibilities

Education and Experience:

  • 4-yr degree in Computer Science or related area
  • 6 years’ minimum experience in applications development and in the following technologies
    • Java
    • Web Service development
    • Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring batch frameworks
    • SQL
    • Weblogic App Server administration
    • DevOps, Azure Dev Ops experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to multitask and pay close attention to detail
