Trust is our #1 value. Our Security Software Engineering team builds and operates highly scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems to deliver cloud-scale security software services. We provide the fundamental building blocks to improve and preserve customer trust in Salesforce's products across multiple public cloud substrates and our own network infrastructure. We leverage many open source technologies, including big data, machine learning, no-SQL database, container, Kubernetes to architect and implement our services, to protect Salesforce products/infrastructure and defend against malicious attacks. Our products' massive complexity requires our software engineers to be highly adaptive to new technology and methodologies, and having the strong ability to deliver reliable software services under pressure. Prior security knowledge is not strictly required. You will have the unique opportunity to learn from the best industry security experts and integrate that into your software and service engineering.

Our team within security organization builds and operates highly scalable services to detect adversaries across all of Salesforce properties. We believe passionate, creative, and motivated people can defend all Salesforce from the best attackers in the world. Our team builds the foundation for all security analysts and data scientists to be successful at this.

As a manager of a growing team you will be responsible for building and operating distributed services that work with massive amount of data. You will have the opportunity to explore cutting edge open source and proprietary technologies to meet the ever changing needs in security space. You will be driving innovation at the intersection of distributed computing, security and data sciences. You will own services that will run expressive rule systems, correlation systems, and work bench systems for analysts and data scientists.

Required skills
3+ years of experience managing people
Track record of managing performance and potential of employees to deliver results as a team
Experience and passion for service ownership, building reliable/self-healing services
Experience with distributed systems with exposure to Kubernetes, Kafka, Real-time streaming and analytics systems
Experience building cloud-native network security services that operate at line-rate, packet capture and IDS systems
Experience in cloud computing technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Preferred skills
Experience in Network Security and Security Analytics
Experience building and running distributed services at scale
Knowledge or experience with security detection and intelligence problems
History of driving build vs buy decisions, and track record of integrating open source and proprietary stack.
Experience at Scrum or other agile development methodologies, with attention to code quality, delivering secure code
Experience crafting multi-year strategy and driving cross team alignment behind it
