Manager-Ad Partnerships & Strategic Planning

Job Summary:

The Manager, Ad Partnerships plays a key role in supporting the growth of Disney Advertising Sales revenue across brands and platforms. The Manager works with external partners and internal partners across Disney Advertising Sales (DAS) & Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED). This individual’s responsibility include, but are not limited to:

1. Establish Optimal Partner Terms, Policies, Products
  • Lead the evaluation of and negotiation with 3rd party yield partners (including demand-side platforms, outstream video, & content recommendation partners), in partnership with the Business Development, Programmatic, Ad Product, & Ad Platforms teams
  • Support evaluation and negotiation of other technology-driven partnerships (including supply-side platforms, ad product innovation, & measurement vendors), in partnership with Programmatic, Ad Product, & Ad Platforms teams
2. Fuel Strategic Initiatives & Optimize Ad Experience
  • Serve as liaison between Disney Ad Sales with DMED Digital Media, Business Development, Innovation, Editorial, & Product teams, facilitating transparency & clarity of key strategic priorities across the teams

  • Lead the identification & evaluation of opportunities for DAS to support/augment DMED partners’ strategic priorities, driving revenue & bottom-line growth for the organization (through more efficient monetization, unified & optimized tech/data/measurement, improved user & ad experience, decreased partner revenue shares/fees, & reduced channel conflict)
  • Co-lead evaluation & development of opportunities to optimize yield and user experience through ad experience optimizations, in partnership with the Ad Product team, working with business, editorial, product, & technology partners across the organization.

3. Evaluate & Prioritize Technology Initiatives
  • Collaborate with Ad Products, Sales Enablement, & Ad Platforms partners on unified prioritization of key technology initiatives
  • Create executive-facing communications that clearly & succinctly lay out priorities (with justification), and progress vs. goals
The individual reports to the Sr. Manager, Ad Partnerships.


  • Manage internal partnerships with key digital media & business development stakeholders across DMED
  • Create ad hoc analyses, POVs, recommendations for new business or partnership opportunities
  • Create executive-facing communications to facilitate alignment and provide status updates on key initiatives
  • Lead evaluation & negotiation with external 3rd party yield partners

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience in strategy, business development, partner management, or business operations
  • Exposure to/experience with digital media (preferable digital ad sales and ad tech, specifically)
  • Track record of collaboration, consensus-building and project management across functional areas and levels of seniority
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for emerging media and technology
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
