Marketing Strategy Manager

Job Summary:

The Marketing Strategy team drives consumer demand and helps achieve goals (revenue, attendance, occupancy) for the Disneyland Resort (2 Theme Parks, 3 Hotels, Downtown Disney). The team achieves these goals by developing business and communication strategies, and partnering with cross-discipline teams to create campaigns that guide consumer behavior. The team also oversees the management of the plans to ensure each campaign or program is maximized across multiple marketing tactics.



The Marketing Strategy Manager will contribute to the development of priority marketing programs for each assigned segment or area of focus and will quickly assess and implement new programs that create revenue. The Marketing Strategy Manager will guide communication planning rooted in consumer insights, exhibit creativity and bring go-to-market innovation in assigned programs. Also, activate unplanned revenue-driving programs, identify new market opportunities, and manage the ongoing performance and optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide annual results by developing marketing programs that incorporate strategic planning, analytics and new ideas
  • Use consumer insights and research to provide applicable creative and strategic input to partners across the entire marketing organization
  • Champion development of integrated marketing communication plans by leading cross-discipline teams
  • Manage consumer direct marketing efforts targeting all essential audience segments including locals, domestic/international tourists, and growth segments
  • Establish and maintain an understanding of marketing trends in the Travel & Leisure space
  • Strategize and influence based on consumer-focused insights and demand while staying up-to-date, and being an expert, on industry trends and behaviors
  • Analyze our performance, needs, risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions to address gaps in forecast or competitive marketplace
  • Enhance the commercial sensibility of the organization and promote cultural change

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of consumer marketing experience
  • Technical marketing skills to inspire and lead strategic input and foster innovative communication planning
  • Ability to frame up a verbal or written POV that influences leaders, partners and peers
  • Ability to work with complex data sets
  • Project manage a high-volume, portfolio of tactical programs
  • Lead in a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Knowledge and familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing and SEO tactics
  • Build strategic alliances/relationships within and outside the Disney organization
  • Experience working with P&L, annual operating plans, and interpreting and communicating data
  • Experience managing a large volume of complex work, prioritizing to ensure results are achieved
  • Expertise in Power Point, Excel, Word

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in multicultural and international marketing, language skills (Spanish, Mandarin)
  • Previous work experience in Brand or Consumer Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing, CPG Marketing or Advertising Account Management

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or Equivalent

Preferred Education

  • MBA or Equivalent
