The Strategy & Planning Associate will be a unique combination of internal consulting as well as operationalizing the initiatives and strategy into action. You will be exposed to and get a chance to develop the standard consulting skillset, while developing industry and domain knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills. You will work on strategy development & communication, program tracking and annual planning. In addition, you will have the ability to leverage your analytical skills to develop models and translate to insights through analysis. We’re looking for people who love to dive into complex business problems, and are curious about how data drives strategy & planning. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Support the definition and communication of VMWare Customer Success strategy through data analysis, drawing insights, and developing recommendations Support the development and execution of the roadmap and operation plan Support the annual planning process by capturing the planning baselines, creating financial models, and developing investment scenarios and ROI The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Developing hypothesis, conducting research/data gathering and analysis to validate hypothesis, and developing strategic recommendations Developing Revenue and Opex baselines, and pro-forma analysis Maintaining detailed project plans, provide status, surface risks and issues What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The role reports into the VMW Customer Success Strategy and Planning team. The majority of the team is based out of Austin, Texas, but we have team members in different parts of the US. You will also work with cross-functional counterparts from finance, operations, (with a strong presence in Austin, but with team members in different parts of the US, or around the world!) Where is this role located? Fixed: this role is remote to start, then based out of VMware’s Austin, Texas location and open to candidates in the surrounding area.
