Account Director - Japan Global Practice Group

The Role

The Japan Global Practice Group (JGPG) is a global team of specialists delivering superior results to our customers through understanding & facilitating their commercial objectives. It is responsible for all Japanese clients across all lines of insurance and combines Willis Towers Watson Japanese expertise with extensive resources throughout our global operation. Building upon 100+ years of experience with Japanese Corporations, we demonstrate a seamless approach across the WTW network and all product and service lines.

Reporting to the Managing Director of the JGPG and operating across Western Europe and GB, you will have responsibility for driving sales growth in the Japanese client portfolio using expertise in creating and generating leads from Japanese business as well as developing a robust new prospect pipeline to ensure sales targets are met in the Corporate Risk and Broking / Human Capital and Benefits segments.

Further specific responsibilities will include:
  • Protecting the existing accounts against competitors
  • Creating and generating leads from Japan Practice Group pipelines
  • Managing and maintaining the database through the Japan Practice Network 
  • Self-generating prospect meetings and liaising with the Willis Towers Watson contact management team to create further sales appointments beyond geographies
  • Working with team colleagues to develop winning proposals for prospects 
  • Growing and developing prospect pipeline so that it is robust enough to hit sales targets 
  • Driving a team process that meets and exceeds new sales targets through acquisition of in-scope business

The Requirements
  • Insurance industry experience whereby you are selling a product to the SME market is essential
  • Business level Japanese language skill is essential
  • Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification
  • Experience of working for a global Japanese company would be ideal
  • Proven sales skills and new business generation
  • Enthusiasm, perseverance and driven to succeed
  • Excellent communicator "EUR" Japanese and English
  • University graduate
  • Team player
  • Attention to detail and quality - 'right first time' mentality
  • IT & systems literate (Analytical Broker)
