The Role

Environmental Brokers perform a variety of critical functions including but not limited to:
 

  • Providing coverage and program design advice and expertise to Production team
  • making recommendations regarding program improvements
  • Providing knowledge to Producers about markets and products as they relate to classes of business
  • Assisting Producers in client and prospect meetings as requested
  • Receiving submissions from the production team 
  • Receiving quotes from carriers and negotiating the best program and pricing for clients, providing coverage comparisons
  • Overseeing the preparation of draft proposals and finalizing Carrier and Client quotes & coverage confirmations to ensure contract certainty
  • Binding carrier quotes and giving sign-off to binders and coverage confirmations

The Requirements 

  • At least 2 years of relevant environmental industry experience (consulting, products, financial institutions, construction, legal)
  • Bachelor’s level degree or environmental consulting experience a plus
  • Familiarity working with Environmental Site Assessments
  • Progress toward Insurance Brokers License a plus
  • Experience handling middle market and commercial business accounts
  • Demonstrates knowledge of core insurance principles & provide explanation to clients  
  • Understanding of Required Placement Workflows 
  • Technical placement, underwriting or sales experience
  • Strong client service orientation with ability to proactively understand client’s needs and present/implement solutions
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
  • Team player who takes initiative, is resourceful and is self-motivated to continuous learning and development
  • Computer skills which include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, as well as navigation within the Internet
