    Angelique (Angie) is a sought-after speaker and content writer with a focus on LGBTQIA+ inclusion and other key DEI topics, having appeared on CNN, USA Today and numerous other media outlets.  After a 41-year career in the Advertising Industry, half of which as an Executive Vice President, she retired from her final position as Sr. Diversity & Inclusion Program Specialist for the Interpublic Group (IPG) in NYC.  She was also the National Co-Chair of IPGLBT, IPG’s Business Resource Group for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies for a number of years  Angie served as a volunteer mayoral-appointed Co-Chair of the City of Yonkers Mayor Spano’s LGBTQ Advisory Board for many years. The board implemented best practice that has continually secured the coveted 100 Rating on the Human Rights Committee’s Municipal Equality Index (HRC-MEI) for many consecutive years and successfully executed the first Pride Festival ever in Yonkers, New York State’s third largest city. In 2015, she was unanimously elected to the Vestry of historic St. John’s Episcopal Church in Yonkers, the first openly transgender person ever to serve on this volunteer governing board in the church’s 325-year history.  Having witnessed the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in person and as a well-recognized accomplished community leader, in June of 2019 she was appointed by the NYS Governor as a WorldPride Ambassador for New York State. On yet another path she is a Congressionally-recognized historian, preservationist and speaker and served as a mayoral-appointed volunteer member of the Yonkers Landmarks Preservation Board for 10 years. She was awarded the prestigious 2014 “Key to History” from the Yonkers Historical Society and was also a past three-time volunteer President of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall, a NYS Historic Site. She is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the century old Hudson River Museum.  In the art and film world, she co-curated an art exhibition at the Blue Door Art Center in Yonkers entitled “The Rainbow Connection / The Colors of Pride”. Her portrait by world renowned celebrity Photographer Mark Seliger has been a part of numerous exhibitions as a part of his 2016 book entitled “On Christopher Street...”, most recently displayed in 2021 at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, TN and beginning in June 2024 will be on display at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.

    Aderonke founded African Rainbow Family in 2014 amidst her thirteen year journey to being granted asylum in the UK. Fleeing Nigeria in 2004 after being sentenced to death for being a lesbian, Aderonke fought hard to be granted her freedom. Alongside running African Rainbow Family, she achieved her Bar Professional Training Course and Master of Laws in 2021 and in October 2022, was Called to the Bar.
