Get hyped for the new year! Join our writer-in-residence and a friendly bunch of queers for a rowdy year-end celebration of new work from writers and goal-setting for 2020!!

Performers will include Rachel Plummer, Ely Percy, Alice Tarbuck, Andrés Nicolás Ordorica, Gray Crosbie and more!

This event is BYOB, Vegan and GF-friendly snacks and drinks encouraged, and we'll have extra refreshments available by donation.

Andrés N. Ordorica is a queer Latinx writer and educator based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He creates worlds with characters who are from neither here nor there (ni de aquí, ni de allá). His fiction has been featured in Confluence Medway, The Acentos Review, 404 ink Magazine, “CEREMONY” published by Tapsalteerie Press, “We Were Always Here” published by 404 ink, and “The Colour of Madness” published by Stirling Publishing. His non-fiction has been published by The Skinny, Bella Caledonia and Medium.

Annie Rutherford makes things with words, and champions poetry and translated literature in all its guises. She works as programme co-ordinator for StAnza, Scotland’s international poetry festival, and as a writer and translator. Her translation of German poet Nora Gomringer’s work, Hydra’s Heads, is now available from Burning Eye Books. She co-founded the literary magazine Far Off Places and Göttingen’s Poetree festival. She can spot a misplaced apostrophe from a distance of 50 yards.

Ely Percy’s first publication was in Big! magazine in 1994. Since then, they’ve released a memoir (‘Cracked’, 2002), graduated with distinction from Glasgow University’s MPhil in Creative Writing (2004) and contributed over fifty short stories to literary journals. They’ve also been a writer-in-residence in a prison, a community librarian in an LGBT centre, and the facilitator of a ‘pilot’ therapeutic writing class for adults with mental health difficulties which ran for three years. Their debut novel ‘Vicky Romeo Plus Joolz’ was published in March 2019.

Jay G Ying is a writer, critic and translator based in Edinburgh. He is a winner of a 2019 New Poets Prize. His debut pamphlet Wedding Beasts was published by Bitter Melon in 2019. His second pamphlet Katabasis will be published in 2020 by The Poetry Business. He is a contributing editor at The White Review.
