Starting with the very first night of the Stonewall Riots, the Latinx population has been a part of the LGBTQA rights movement. This Cinco de Mayo, the Lakeside Pride Latin Band honors the close relationship between these communities with a red-hot setlist of music. Celebrate with us!

This season, Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles is honoring the legacy of the Stonewall Riots. As we approach the 50th anniversary of the riots in June 2019, our concert series will celebrate, in reverse chronological order, the landmark events that have shaped the LGBTQA community since Stonewall. Nearly a dozen ensembles will present 6 concerts this season, celebrating marriage equality, LGBTQA veterans, AIDS activists, New York City as the spark of the modern equality movement, and the influence of the Latinx community. The season will culminate with an inspiring and entertaining retrospective of the riots themselves, featuring performances of first-hand accounts from those who had the courage to stand up and fight that week in June 1969.

A partir de la primera noche de los disturbios de Stonewall, la población de Latinx ha sido parte del movimiento de los derechos LGBTQA. Este Cinco de Mayo, la Banda Latina de Lakeside Pride honra la estrecha relación entre estas comunidades con una lista de música animada. ¡Celébralo con nosotros!

Esta temporada, Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles está honrando el legado de los disturbios de Stonewall. A medida que nos acercamos al aniversario número cincuenta de los disturbios en junio del 2019, nuestra serie de conciertos celebrará los eventos emblemáticos que han dado forma a la comunidad LGBTQA desde Stonewall en orden cronológico de atrás para adelante. La temporada culminará con una retrospectiva inspiradora y entretenida de los propios disturbios de Stonewall, con presentaciones de relatos de primera mano de quienes tuvieron el coraje de levantarse y luchar esa semana en junio de 1969.
