LGBT+ Allies: Part 1 – How to be an ally.
About the event: This workshop will briefly explore what LGBT+ means, what discrimination and challenges that LGBT+ people still face, why we still need events like Chester Pride.
The event will then go on to look at Bank of America’s flagship allies programme, which encourages colleagues to sign up as allies and progress from Bronze to Platinum level status. It will explain the actions needed to do this and encourage attendees to reflect on the actions they can undertake themselves.
Who is it for: Do you wear a rainbow lanyard? Then this session is for you! This is a great session for students to attend to discover what they should look for in an inclusive employer when going into the workplace. All staff, students and visitors are welcome to attend.
