What Does Allyship Look Like?

Allyship manifests in various ways, and in various circumstances. Join us as we hear from allies about the work they're doing - both in the workplace, and beyond - as well as how they have learnt to give everything they can to support marginalised communities. Whether it's allyship to the LGBTQ+ community, within the LGBTQ+ community, or to other marginalised communities, we can all do more to support one another to ensure that everyone feels safe and supported enough to bring their whole selves with them everywhere they go.

I have been with Expedia for 6 years, 4 of which have been as an executive assistant. I have had the privilege of serving on the Pride IBG (Inclusion Business Group) board for the last 3 years, first as AMERs VP and now President. I live in the Bay Area and am based out of our San Francisco office, but originally I’m from the East Coast (Philadelphia – home of soft pretzels, cheesesteaks, wooder ice, and the strangest sports mascots in the biz). Some of my favorite things include: my dog (Cooper), Taylor Swift, champagne, re-watching Parks & Recreation, reading, and spending time with the people that I love. I&D is incredibly important to me for so many reasons, but in general I just firmly believe that absolutely everyone has the right to love, security, friendship, and a feeling of belonging. That belief is at the core of everything that I do, and I feel so fortunate and humbled to get the opportunity to sit on a board of individuals that share this same passion, and who are working to make EG (and the world) a more inclusive place to be. As an LGBTQIA+ ally, I am focused on and committed to elevating the voices within this community. The work that we do is important, and I am so excited to continue learning and working towards meaningful change.
