WorkPride Panel: A Two-way Opportunity - The Importance of Mentoring

Mentoring brings us together – across generation, class, and often race – in a manner that forces us to acknowledge our interdependence, to appreciate, in Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words, that “we are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied to a single garment of destiny.” In this way, mentoring enables us to participate in the essential but unfinished drama of reinventing community, while reaffirming that there is an important role for each of us in it.” Marc Freedman – 2014, Founder and CEO of Encore.org and Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the World Economic Forum.

Industry experts will get together in this panel to discuss the impact effective mentoring and reverse mentoring programs can have on the long-term goals and success of employees. Mentoring not only assists in succession planning but also passes on important values, expertise, and experience across all levels.

    Mentorship.CLUB
Don is the luckiest guy in the world. From very humble beginnings, his mother was a drug addict and alcoholic who took him and his 3 siblings to Compton, Los Angeles to live, widely considered to be the worst place to live in the US at that time. His father later came to take them back where they were raised in Central Pennsylvania. He put himself through university, followed by being selected as the top national recruit by a Fortune 500 company, eventually being mentored by some of the best business minds in the world including the CEOs of DHL, Colt manufacturing, the Founder, CEO and Chairman of a Fortune 500 company and the Co-Chairman of Ernst & Young. He became the Country Manager of Mexico at 29 and the CEO of a public company at 39, one of only about 10 in the US at that time. One day, he was sitting in his office thinking about how fortunate he was to have that opportunity, so he created a platform to provide that same availability for others to have that gift as well. So he made a list of CEOs that he knew which included some very notable CEOs, and that's where Mentorship.CLUB was born. So, unlike our competitors, we are not a marketplace for other "coaches" to sell their services. We are not a consolidator of coaches without any vetting to allow them to put their name on our site and add our own markup to their price. No one on the internet can touch the quality of our World Class Mentors. They do this for free as they know the only way they achieved their success was through the mentorship they received.
