Aaron Rodgers sparks outrage after claims about U.S.A. government creating HIV/AIDS

Notable New York Jets player Aaron Rodgers' suggestion that the HIV/AIDS pandemic of the 1980s was fabricated by humans has come to light again, linking it to former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci.

According to ‘Yahoo!’, during an appearance on the Look Into It podcast in March, Rodgers criticised Dr. Fauci’s handling of HIV and the deployment of the antiretroviral drug AZT, labelling these actions as a “blueprint” for the U.S.A. government’s management of COVID.

“The blueprint, the game plan, originated in the '80s. Construct a pandemic with a virus going rampant,” Rodgers claimed. “Fauci received over $350 million to research and develop drugs, whether new or repurposed, to manage the AIDS crisis. Yet, all that emerged was AZT.”

“And if you perform even minimal research—look, I'm not an epidemiologist, or a doctor, or an immunologist, or whatever the f--k. However, I can read. I can educate myself and look things up just like anyone else. It's so frowned upon to even question authority,” he continued.

“But that was the strategy then. Create a scenario where only one treatment was deemed effective. Back then it was AZT; now, it’s Remdesivir until a vaccine is developed.”

Rodgers also noted, “By the way, it’s known that Fauci had a stake in the Moderna vaccine and we’re aware Pfizer has a history of being deeply corrupt, paying the largest fine in the history of the [Department of Justice] in 2009. What are we really discussing? Are we to put our unquestioning trust in a science that can’t be challenged?”

These claims, notably Rogers’ statements about Fauci and others engineering the HIV virus in collaboration with the U.S.A. government, have been debunked and are unsupported by historical or factual evidence. It is widely accepted that the virus likely passed from primates to humans as early as the late 1800s.

With these controversial remarks resurfacing on social media, many responses have been critical. “It's ironic how the NFL effectively blacklisted Colin Kaepernick for advocating racial justice. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers, with his baseless conspiracy theories about HIV, Sandy Hook, and more, continues to be one of the league’s top earners,” a social media user stated on X.

“Turns out the first documented AIDS death was a teenager in St. Louis during the late '60s, and there's evidence that HIV dates back to the 1920s. Aaron Rodgers really doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” another person commented.

While Rodgers concedes his lack of medical expertise, another individual highlighted his educational background: “Aaron Rodgers doesn’t even hold a college degree. His major at UC Berkeley was American Studies. He left early to join the NFL and never completed his degree. Clearly, he’s a subject matter expert on HIV origins.”

Rodgers is expected to return to play with the Jets later this year after his debut season was cut short to just four plays. Meanwhile, Fauci resigned from his long-term position at NIAID in 2022 and currently serves as a faculty member at Georgetown University.
