Alarming Survey Shows That 95% Of LGBT+ Business Travellers Hide Sexual Identity
A new survey from SAP Concur has shown that the overwhelming majority of LGBT+ travelers, specifically 95%, have hidden their sexual identity while traveling, mainly citing their safety as the top reason.
The survey included 8,000 business travelers from 19 markets around the world.
“Nearly half of all LGBTQ business travelers (46%) hid their true selves because they were concerned about anti-LGBTQ laws in the country they visited. And a startling 85% of LGBTQ business travelers have changed accommodations because they felt unsafe,” ‘Business Insider’ reports.
The same survey showed that female business travelers also experienced high levels of harm with more than 77% of women having experienced mistreatment and harassment while traveling for business.
