David Cameron Claims Putin Tried To Boost Russian Population With ‘Gay Propaganda’
Former British Prime Minister David Cameron has said in his new memoir ‘For The Record’ of an encounter he had had with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which the Russian President told him he passed a law against “gay propaganda” to reverse the country’s declining birth rates.
In 2013, Russia banned the “promotion of non-traditional sexual relations towards minors”. Russia has struggled with population numbers falling for the first time in a decade to 146.8 million in 2018.
“[Putin] said that Russia’s problem was a declining population, and he needed men to marry women and have lots of children,” Cameron recalls.
