Franklin Graham Banned From Liverpool Because of LGBT+ ‘Hatred’

Evangelist Franklin Graham has been banned from Liverpool’s mayor Joe Anderson from appearing in an arena in Liverpool on his summer tour of the U.K. because of hid opposition to gay rights.

Anderson tweeted that “our City is a diverse City and proud of our LGBTQ+ community and always will be.

“We can not allow hatred and intolerance to go unchallenged by anyone including by religious groups or sects. It’s right we have banned from the M&S Arena Franklin Graham. #Love conquers hatred always.”

Graham responded that he did not intend “to bring hateful speech to your community. This is just not true.”

Graham maintained his stance that “God defines homosexuality as sin.

“But God goes even further than that, to say that we are all sinners — myself included,” he wrote.

According to ‘WBTV’, a spokesperson for the venue at which Graham was scheduled to appear said that “We can no longer reconcile the balance between freedom of speech and the divisive impact this event is having in our city. We are proud to represent all communities.”

Liverpool is one of the 10 most LGBT+ friendly cities in the U.K.
