Netflix Threatens Legal Action for Boston Straight Pride

Netflix has sent a cease-and-desist order to the organisers of a “Straight Pride” in Boston for claiming they are a “prospective corporate sponsor”.

“You should know that we’re unafraid of bullies. Our legal department is here, it’s queer, and it’s telling you to steer clear,” the streaming giant wrote them, ordering the straight pride to “immediately” remove their logo from all promotional materials, threatening further legal action if this wasn’t done within 24 hours.

“(Straight pride) is about hate – not pride,” Netflix added, “It’s telling that you need to feel the need to lie to gain legitimacy.”

The organisers responded on their website by claiming “Netflix hates the straights” and that they were staffed by “gay supremacists.”

“We believed that they would jump at the opportunity to become involved in our young civil rights movement,” they added. “Sadly, we have learned that Netflix is a heterophobic company steeped in hatred and bigotry.”
