New York City Pride Announced 2020 Theme
New York City Pride, also known as Heritage of Pride, have announced their theme for 2020: “The Future Is…”, a sentiment meant to celebrate diversity and inclusion among queer people and “[connect] the past, present, and future of the LGBTQIA+ community,” as ‘New Now Next’ reports.
In a recent statement, David A. Correa, NYC’s Pride interim executive director, said the theme is “reflective of the resilient nature of historic LGBTQIA+ activists who fought for our collective freedoms, and the promising future of the new generation skilled to lead the charge for equality.”
This year is the 50th anniversary of NYC’s first Pride March.
NYC Pride will be held from June 14-28 2020.
