Petition To Stop LGB Alliance Gaining Charity Status Signed By More Than 15,000 People
LGB Alliance has applied to become a charity, and thousands of people are petitioning against it for being a “transphobic hate group”.
“The LGB alliance is an organisation which actively promotes anti-trans views. Many in the LGBT+ community agree they are a transphobic hate group,” writes the change.org petition.
Although LGB Alliance portrays themselves as “fighting for the rights of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people”, their focus is less on fighting for the rights of LGB people, such as helping gay men start a family or making the HIV drug PrEP available to all on the NHS and more on “stopping children being taught about different gender identities” stating they are (confusing and potentially harmful), according to ‘Gscene’.
The petition states that “Charities cannot have a political purpose, any political campaigning must be in pursuit of a charitable purpose. Charities cannot exist solely to pursue a political aim.”
“We ask that Baroness Tina Stowell and the Charity Commission considers the views of the LGBT+ community, who wholeheartedly reject the anti-trans views of the LGB Alliance.
"LGB Alliance are not fit to be given charitable status and their application must be rejected.”
More than 15,000 people have voiced their concern and signed the petition to stopping LGB Alliance from gaining charity status.
