Pope Francis: “Do Not Condemn LGBT+ Children”
At the ‘World Meeting of Families’, Pope Francis told parents not to condemn their children if they are LGBT+.
The Pope made his remarks at the Dublin festival, which took place over the weekend. He addressed parents of LGBT+ children and told them “first to pray” then added “don’t condemn, have a dialogue, understand. I’ll never say that silence is a remedy.”
He said to ignore children with “homosexuality tendencies” is to lack “paternity and maternity.” He added that every child has the “right to a family” and parents should not “throw them out of the family.”
“This is a serious challenge,” he closed his address with, “it’s part of paternity and maternity."
