The LGBTQ+ Community Centre Partners with Taylor Wessing

Robin Panrucker – Head of Talent Development at Taylor Wessing, shines a light on the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre and how Taylor Wessing will be supporting their vital work.

Hi Robin, tell us about the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre – who are they and what do they do?

The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is a sober, intersectional community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people are welcome, supported, can build connections and flourish. Their vision is to create a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.

When did you/ Taylor Wessing first become aware of them? Do you currently work with them in any capacity?

I have been aware of them since they first opened the physical space in 2021, but it wasn't until earlier in 2022 that we started to build our relationship with them and look at how we can connect, volunteer and support them both financially as a corporate sponsor, but also in the pro-bono space. We are exploring a lot of different opportunities that we can present to our LGBT+ network so we can get more people involved. The intention is to begin this full programme in early 2023 with a fundraising event and volunteering and pro-bono opportunities.  We are very excited about this new relationship both from a firm-wide and LGBTQ+ network perspective, as we have a great synergy and are looking forward to seeing what we can do together to really make an impact within the local LGBTQ+ space.

Why is this charity important to you?

It is great to see something in the local community that is a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community but also a venue that can be used by other groups to host their events. It is so important that spaces like this exist and I am extremely proud to support them on a personal and professional level.
