There is No Right Way to Come Out

There is no right way to come out. I know that this moment feels important, and it is, but it doesn’t have to be flashy or glamorous.

Some of the most incredible coming-out stories are simple. Mine? I told one friend whilst sitting on the curb outside Edinburgh Airport.

No matter how you deliver it or how it’s received, your coming out story is exceptional. As long as you are safe, comfortable and feel prepared, then you are ready, and the world is ready for you. Because you are loved, you are valid, and you have a whole community that celebrates you whether you are out or not.
