Trans Woman Shot In Apparent Hate Crime In Dallas

An investigation has begun in Dallas after a shooting attack on a trans woman has been suspected as a hate crime.

Police have asked for help in identifying the shooter, releasing a picture of his red Chevrolet truck. They said the suspect pulled with his car right alongside the victim as she was walking, yelled a number of slurs regarding her gender identity and then opened fire, striking her multiple times in the chest and arm.

Although the victim has survived, police were not able to interview the victim for some days because of her injuries but were able to take her testimony later on where she provided details of the shooting.

This comes in a time when attacks on transgender women in Dallas have been a big issue and have drawn concerns nationwide.
