YouTuber Rebecca Black Comes Out As Queer
Singer and YouTuber Rebecca Black has come out as queer on a recent episode of the podcast Dating Straight. In the podcast, Black admitted she had previously made a conscious decision not to come out but she felt like now was the right time to do so.
As the ‘Evening Standard’ reports, on the podcast talking about her sexuality and how she now identifies, Black said: “It's like f**king quarantine, every day is different.
“It's something that over the past few years I've obviously been having a lot of conversations with myself about. To me the word 'queer' feels really nice. I have dated a lot of different types of people.
“I just don't really know what the future holds. Some days, I feel a little more on the 'gay' side than others.”
Black had previously hinted on her sexuality through her YouTube channel when she responded to a fan asking her if she considers herself to be part of the LGBT+ community.
“I definitely see sexuality as being on a spectrum,” she said.
“You can definitely be on one end of the spectrum or the other. With there being a spectrum, there is this huge middle ground. I definitely see myself as being on that spectrum.”
Black became an internet sensation when she was just 13 with the music video for her song Friday which rapidly became viral.
