Our BeProud LGBTQ+ Network
The BeProud LGBTQ+ network brings together LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies, providing a safe space for colleagues to connect and bringing visibility to LGBTQ+ topics at Bentley Motors. One of five D&I networks at Bentley, it is our mission that all colleagues feels a sense of belonging and can realise their full potential, no matter their sexuality and gender identity.
Since founding BeProud in 2020, it has been great to see more and more colleagues from all business areas connecting, sharing their experiences, driving positive change and living authentically in the workplace. We continue to raise awareness in the business through telling colleague stories and informing on key LGBTQ+ topics. We’ve brought LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies together, united in celebrating our differences through regular network meetings, panel discussions with external speakers and events focused on inclusion. We continue to drive improvement through working with business areas and other organisations to drive diversity and inclusion in the automotive sector.
Key highlights include our 2022 Manchester Pride entry, which saw over 50 colleagues from all business areas coming together with our rainbow Continental GTC for an extraordinary celebration of diversity. Our ‘We.Together’ collaboration with VW Group brands resulted in a series of inspiring panel discussions on D&I topics, including the importance of allyship and how to be a good ally. Most importantly, we’ve watched network members grow in confidence, being able to live authentically in work and becoming empowered advocates for our inclusive culture.
