About Diageo

From Arthur Guinness to Johnnie Walker, our business was founded on people of great character and in 250 years, nothing’s changed, women and men of great character continue the innovation with the same passion as our founders. We’re the world’s leading premium alcohol company. Our brands are industry icons. Diageo is where you’ll find a wide variety of personalities, experiences and perspectives, wherever you’re based in the world. It makes for a stimulating and rewarding working environment. We’re proud to be more than 30,000 talented people and our success is thanks to the strength of our people, in every role. It’s why we trust them with our legacy and it’s why we reward them with the career-defining opportunities that they deserve.

Celebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to Diageo’s purpose of “celebrating life every day everywhere”. This purpose is, in itself, inclusive in nature, as it values everybody irrespective of background, disability, religion, gender identity, sexuality or ethnicity

We know that for our business to thrive and for Diageo to realize its ambition, we depend on having diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in each of the 180 countries in which we operate and to reflect our broad consumer base. We view diversity as one of the key enablers that helps our business to grow and our values, purpose and standards set the conditions for us to respect the unique contribution each person brings.

Working with us

We are a global leader in beverage alcohol with an outstanding collection of brands across spirits and beer. We produce an outstanding collection of over 200 brands – old and new, large and small, global and local – that are enjoyed in more than 180 countries around the world.

Created in 1997, our business is built on the principles and foundations laid years before by giants of the industry – Arthur Guinness, John Walker, Elizabeth Cumming and many more.

Today, we stand on the shoulders of these giants and, inspired by their ideas, philosophy and audacity, act with the same entrepreneurial spirit and determination.

Our passionate colleagues continue to take risks as they introduce our iconic brands to new people, and strengthen ties with old friends. And, as they do so, we help them to go further – to dream bigger, be bolder, and be true to their characters through their roles and careers. They’re leading the way and have the chance to raise our torch ever higher, long into the future.

Throughout the month a number of virtual events and discussions took place, including a ‘Human Library’ networking sessions which brought together employees from Africa to India to Mexico and beyond to interact and discuss what Pride month meant to them and a HIV awareness session in partnership with the Terrence Higgins Trust. The month was wrapped up with a virtual Pride Parade and Drag Queen Bingo hosted by Alyssa Edwards, breakout star of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

These guidelines were developed in consultation our employee Rainbow Network.
