WPP UNITE

WPP Unite is the LGBTQ+ community that lives across WPP’s global network. It’s a collection of LGBTQ+ thinkers, doers and creators united across the many different agencies and businesses of WPP’s global network.

Its mission is to ensure diversity of thinking and creativity thrives within WPP’s workplaces, and within the work created for clients. You can find its members working in WPP agencies around the world: as creatives, strategists, client managers, planners, media buyers, comms experts, office managers, technologists, and more.

Going further than many traditional ERGs, Unite uses its influence, creativity, and the scale of WPP to launch multiple campaigns and initiatives led exclusively by LGBTQ+ teams. These include

- The #AllOurPride campaign, created with Pride in London to celebrate 50 years of marching for LGBTQ+ rights in the UK.

- The Reality Flag created with the Human Rights Campaign to help pass the Equalities act and ensure basic freedoms like renting a home and receiving medical care are protected in every state for every LGBTQ+ American.

- The Beyond the Rainbow study, an exploration into the future of LGBTQ+ marketing, developed in Partnership with MyGWorks, UK Black Pride and the Human Rights Campaign

- The Behind the Stonewall Riots initiative to help recruit more Black Queer creatives into the advertising industry

Working at WPP

Working at WPP means being part of a global network of over 100,000 employees across 110 countries. We create transformative ideas and outcomes for our clients through an integrated offer of communications, experience, commerce, and technology.

We also offer support to our employees through a Mental Health Allyship Program, Employee Resource groups with members across the world, and a robust internal mobility program to ensure career growth and development.

Diversity & Inclusion

We have multiple global ERGs to support employees across the agency network. These include Roots (focused on racial inclusion and equity), Unite (LGBTQ+ community activism), and Stella (women’s empowerment and support). Many of our agencies include ERGs for specific communities like veterans, Indigenous, Muslim, or those with disabilities.

We have mentorship and sponsor programs like Elevate, which is established to support Black women moving into leadership. We’ve recently launched Ascend to support our AAPI women as well.
