Banking & Capital Markets Project Manager, London

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the FSO Assurance team at EY, playing a key role in the smooth running of the audits of large and complex global clients.

 
The opportunity 

Working as a valued member of FSO Assurance, you will interface regularly with EY engagement team members and external client personnel at all levels of seniorities. We’re looking for someone like you who has the autonomy to become a trusted member of the team and will be expected to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment and discretion and own the entire process, coordinating with geographically dispersed stakeholders.

 
Your key responsibilities 

You will work with Finance, Operations, Engagement Managers and partners to ensure the smooth running of non-technical project coordination related activities. You will provide day to day support to client teams, providing regular updates to Partners on cost reviews, budget and audit timelines. Furthermore, you will manage revenue planning for global accounts and manage the knowledge for these accounts, supporting pursuits and ensuring engagement letters are completed in a timely basis. You will manage a team of Account Support Associates and will provide coaching and training. The teams will look to you to champion initiatives and suggest improvements to engagement Partners.

 
Skills and attributes for success

Achieve project objectives by planning project diligently; evaluating implementation and progress of project. 

  • Strong project management experience;
    • Coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope.
    • Being proactive and liaising with teams to ensure the timely execution of project deliverables.
    • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
    • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Submit project status reports to stakeholders; reviews bugs; plans software releases; anticipates and reacts to change.
  • Acting as a point of contact for the central team, dealing with queries and proactively building relationships throughout the period of the audit.
  • Work closely with the GDS (Global Delivery Service) in delegating routine admin tasks - supervise and monitor the work of the GDS function maintaining overall responsibility for task completion
 
To qualify for the role you must have:
  • Proven experience of project coordination. Planning, managing and prioritising work and complete projects on an accurate and timely basis

  • High level of competency in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint to produce reports and presentations for internal and external teams 

  • A good communicator who is comfortable to liaise with senior stake holders

  • Ability to tailor your work style when working with all ranks and able to adapt when need.

  • Relevant experience within Financial Services industry particularly Banking

  • Proven experience of pro-actively managing teams to ensure that project deliverables meet the agreed timetable

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to anticipate team / client requirements

  • Strong numerical, analytical and attention to detail skills

  • Proven experience of delivering owning and delivering projects on own initiative

 

 Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification

  • Experience of tracking actual costs against budget on a project and an understanding of financial measures

  • Experience of reporting directly to senior stakeholders on a project

  • Be educated to  'A' Levels standard and/or further education qualification e.g. HND/degree qualified - preferred although not essential
