The presales team is referred to as Business Solutions within FIS, since it does far more than the traditional "presales" role of product demos and discovery. The mission statement of the team is to provide subject matter expertise, product expertise and consultative sales support to a wide range of sales executives, account managers and relationship managers. We show our prospects how to solve business problems and achieve quantified business benefits using FIS software and related business process changes.

What you will be doing

Your role will comprise of two main streams; modeling energy trading and risk management business scenarios in Aligne and taking a lead sales support role for opportunities.

  • Modelling energy trading and risk management scenarios: With a deep understanding of the energy trading industry you will model deals, portfolios, and perform risk and analytical calculations across different energy businesses including utilities, marketers, and producers.
  • Sales support: You will provide direction to the sales team for recommended solution, product demonstrations and creation and packaging ofproposals and input to appropriate sections of requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFI).

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Liaising with client Business Analysts to apply the Aligne software suite to solve business problems, identifying and documenting system requirements
  • Analysing current systems and data to identify new requirements, recognising the need for systems enhancements or modifications if necessary, communication back to product management
  • Delivery of sales presentations and solution demonstrations, and provide coverage at annual ETRM events and client events
  • Providing ETRM expertise in the sales process in collaboration with sales team
  • Responding to RFI's / RFP / client queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaising with internal Development staff, support teams within the implementation group, and both internal and client Testing teams.
  • Travel, primarily across the US and Canada around 10-30%

What you bring:

In depth knowledge and understanding of
  • Gas and power markets in North American across both physical and financial assets for utilities, markets, and producers. Including but not limited to the deal's types and valuation across the space.
  • Risk and analytical calculations in relation to the energy market including; VaR (multiple methods), stress testing, PFE, EaR, CFaR,
  • Credit management techniques including; limits and limit management, credit ratings and simulations, and margin calculations

Background including the following skills / experience:
  • Strong analysis, problem-solving and development skills are essential.
  • Experience in client facing activities
  • Understanding of the entire sales cycle, from market research through to contract signing
  • Good grasp of technology and technical concepts
  • Analytical and consultative approach to client engagements
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation abilities
  • Fluent English written and verbal language skills

Added bonus if you have:

  • Significant experience in a pre-sales role
  • Prior Aligne / Zainet experience
