Intern, Wealth Consulting (TW)

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking to add to our wealth consulting team.  This role will be based in Taiwan, with direct client communication (verbal and written) and management exposure from day one.  Mercer's wealth business is focused on improving the financial success of our clients.   Through our people and our broad range of services across the wealth continuum (retirement and investments consulting for defined benefit, defined contribution and not-for-profit clients), we enhance financial security, create financial opportunities and provide financial freedom to 110 million people globally.

POSITION SCOPE

We will count on you to:

  • Help provide basic analytics support to more senior analysts on the team.
  • Perform standard calculations on the data as required.
  • Use basic IT tools, mainly excel, actuarial tools and populate any other Mercer-standard tools.   Completing simple basis changes in actuarial tools where necessary.
  • Assist senior staff in updating data reports and results that will be provided to Valuation Services, Consulting Unit contacts and clients.
  • Provides entry-level coordination and administrative support to Project Managers.

What you need to have:

  • Good academic track record, preferably in subjects such as Mathematics, Finance (Accounting/ Management/ Behavioural), Actuarial Sciences or Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.  Comfortable with conducting comparative analysis, managing large amounts of data in an efficient manner.  Ability to articulate complex and technical information in layman and concise ways through written and verbal communication.
  • Outstanding project management skill, in planning ahead the different milestones to achieve and execute in a timely manner with strong commitment on quality.
  • Self-initiative and curiosity in financial services, self-motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team.  Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with team members.
  • Strong language capabilities in English and Mandarin.
