This person will support the Head of Investment Entities Risk Oversight and the Head of Prudential Risk to discharge their Risk Management responsibilities in support of the Divisional Director of Group Risk Management and the Group and legal entity CROs.

The role holder will be a key member of the Prudential Risk team, responsible for implementing an effective risk management framework, and assessing capital requirements for regulated entities to ensure that regulatory requirements are met and appropriate management solvency and liquidity buffers are in place. This individual will also be a risk lead for one of the corporate entities and responsible for all relevant entity reporting, and ensuring that the financial resilience of the entity is relayed to the Board and that all material risks are duly considered. This role requires someone with previous relevant risk experience within FS, great interpersonal skills and strong IT/Excel capabilities.

What you’ll be doing:

Support the Head of Investment Entities Risk Oversight with:

  • Developing & maintaining solvency assessments.
  • Developing & conducting dividend reviews.
  • Developing & maintaining entity-level Recovery & Resolution plans in line with regulation.
  • Delivering effective Prudential Risk reporting supporting relevant Executive forums and legal entity boards.
  • Conducting targeted risk assessments to understand specific, material and financially focused risks, such as liquidity and credit risk.
  • Providing Risk Business Partnering as the lead Risk Consultant to an operational or technical area of the business to improve the risk awareness and culture in that division.
  • Conducting or supporting Operational Risk Assessments and reverse stress tests.
  • Provide Risk input to support external reporting (MIFIDPRU, Financial Reporting, etc.)

Who we’re looking for:

  • Ideally qualified/nearly qualified in a technical risk management related qualification.
  • Experience in UK FS (ideally wealth management) so familiar with appropriate products, services, operations and regulation.
  • Strong understanding of prudential regulation (preferably IFPR) and how different risk drivers can change solvency capital requirements.
  • Good understanding of how SJP operates including its products, investment approach, operating model and legal entity structure.
  • Technical specialist in risk management with a comprehensive understanding of risk management processes and controls.
  • Able to analyse and present complex data in an impactful way.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to influence, negotiate and work with senior managers/teams to agree risk exposures and mitigating control activity.
  • Able to establish effective collaborative relationships across the SJP business and external organisations.
  • Able to identify innovative solutions to complex problems.
