Cost Reporting Accountant - 11 Month Fixed Term Contract

Great opportunity to join our team as a Cost Reporting Accountant on a 11 month fixed term contract.

The Role

  • Production of the entire cost reporting services to the WTW Ireland companies & the Accounts Payable function
  • Compensation & Benefits (C&B):
  • Oversight of incentives (producer, AIP) process
  • Ensure the payroll processes are working effectively across WTW Ireland with outsourced payroll provider (Mazars), establishing clear Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to ensure that the service is maintaining at appropriate level
  • Review and seek to streamline existing processes
  • Oversee third party payroll related payments
  • Co-ordinate WTW plc NED payroll process with the Group Secretariat, Shareplan and Global AP teams
  • Ensure both the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension plans are appropriately accounted through the company accounts
  • Manage health and medical plan expenses, and all other staff related payments to ensure accounted correctly on the company financial ledger
  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partners (FBP) and Human Resources (HR) regarding movements/variances to Plan, Forecast and prior year
  • Direct costs:
  • Ensure that costs are booked/expensed in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the FBP team in terms of variances to plan/forecast/prior year
  • Cost management with the business
  • Work with team colleague on Accruals and Prepayments monthly postings + schedules
  • Allocations:
  • Facilities – work closely with the Facilities manager to ensure costs are accounted for correctly
  • All provisions:
  • Errors & Omissions
  • Severance
  • Others – e.g. facilities, pensions etc.
  • Work with the Group Fixed Asset team, ensuring all fixed assets are capitalised and depreciated over an appropriate time period 
  • Report on all the cost related accounts on the Ireland balance sheets, and ensure provisions and accruals are appropriately managed
  • Balance sheet management, ensuring all assigned balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly, with appropriate corrective action taken 
  • Assist in the annual external audit and statutory accounts preparation, and ongoing board reporting throughout the year
  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process
  • Working with other Finance team members in terms of:
  • Collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and facilitating functional training
  • Engagement, coaching and mentoring of junior members of the Finance team
  • Working and supporting colleagues across the Willis Towers Watson Group, ensuring effective collaboration, communication and development of solutions
  • Support and promote a positive working environment
  • Projects will form a key aspect of this role, with the candidate expected to be able to manage and successfully deliver projects, working with colleagues within the Finance, Support and Business functions and teams

The Requirements

  • Exceptional commercial acumen – understanding of the key business revenue and Profit & Loss drivers
  • Strong financial knowledge – recently qualified accountant
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to develop strong working relationships with the business
  • Pro-active – ability to use initiative, self-starting, ability to prioritise and deliver within deadlines
  • Passionate – to make a difference and to β€œadd value” to the business
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented with ability to prioritise and organise workflow
  • Highly computer literate with superior skills in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of accounting applications e.g. Oracle E-Business Suite, Hyperion, etc.
