Data Team Leader - Investment

Our Data Management team is a vital function in the operation of our delegated Investments business (fiduciary and funds management), ensuring timely and accurate data flows into our systems to facilitate the investment process.


The Role

The role holder will manage a team and support the following areas of operations: 
• Data quality control checks to ensure the integrity of our investment and reporting data
• Exception reporting and resolution tracking
• Client and investment product on-boarding
• Periodic reviews of data
• Investment Book of Records valuations
• Data extraction
• Work closely with global teams (Chicago, London & Manila)

Other key areas of responsibility will include:
• Accuracy of deliverables – ensure team’s adherence to processes/controls to achieve timely and accurate delivery. Follow corporate methodology in the creation/ongoing maintenance
• Risks and issues – oversee control of the key risks within the team. Ensure timely escalation of issues and appropriate implementation of mitigating actions
• Input to people manager’s meeting – be a member of the people managers group, responsible for cascading information and providing team updates
• Relationships, oversight and stakeholder management - Relationship management of key stakeholders both within the wider Operations Team and the Investments business as a whole
• People – a key aspect of your role will be managing the team in the following respects:
o Development of colleagues with the team, including formal reviews
o Individual workflow and time management
o Recruitment, ensuring the team has the appropriate skillsets, recognising changing business needs and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce
• Project support – Inputting to the set-up of our new technology platform from a data perspective and other ad hoc tasks


The Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, business administration, banking, investment or related area
• Experience within data management, data analytics or a related field
• Proficiency in written and spoken English required
• Strong experience with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R is a plus
• Experience of achieving accurate and timely work through others (e.g. in a people management role or lead role within a project or team)
• Effective oral / written communication skills to ensure information and knowledge is shared appropriately 
• Comfortable working with colleagues at a range of seniorities
• Experience in working in an outsource and/or offshore model useful
