Trans Day of Remembrance

Join us on the 16th of November for our Trans empowerment panel - we'll be hearing from our panel about their stories and experiences, thoughts about how we can lift up our trans community, and how to empower the trans people in our life whilst being better allies. Despite the trans community coming under increased persecution and discrimination, our panel will be celebrating holding our heads high, and living authentically regardless of what anybody thinks.

This panel is sponsored by Pearson.

In my prior life, I served 8 years in the US Military as a Military Police officer. I graduated from Champlain College in 2018 with a degree in Psychology. However, during my time in college, I also worked full-time at a psychiatric hospital, worked on implementations of diversity trainings within colleges and Vermont State facilities, mentored faculty, staff and students in Diversity Trainings, volunteered my free time at Vermont Pride Center where I created a group for transgender alliances and outreach. In 2020, I got into my PhD for psychology and ultimately declined it. I made a 180 career change and work in business for FIS now. Within FIS I am a senior project manager working for technology development and as volunteer, I am Chief of Operations for our Pride Network within FIS. In my spare time outside of my career, I am a lifestyle and fitness coach for the LGBTQ+ community and others!

    Valtech
I am a transgender, bisexual and asexual woman (although there are other identities within the LGBTQ+ umbrella that I also identify with). I have worked for Valtech since 2019. My role as a software developer is where I find comfort, but where I find passion is in the opportunities I have to improve the diversity and inclusion of the workplace. I represent the UK on an internal council for diversity and inclusion, and I have run, promoted and taken part in several D&I events in the last year, including speaking on panels, and presenting talks on specific aspects of the LGBTQ+ community to queer people, allies and everyone else who want to learn more about it.
