Pattadid Veawpetch's Journey

Pattadid Veawpetch, known as Tum, serves as an Internal Accounts Executive in Thailand. Tum's story is a testament to the transformative power of an inclusive and supportive work environment. As a gay individual, Tum shares how RS has become more than just a workplace; it has evolved into a second family that respects and celebrates his identity every day.


Family Background and Struggles

Tum faced early challenges that left him feeling incomplete. Raised by his disciplined grandmother, Tum yearned for the love and care of his absent father, leading him to grapple with a sense of imperfection and difference. Recognizing his identity as a gay individual from a young age, Tum struggled against societal norms that deemed any form of sexual diversity as 'abnormal.' 

Challenging Societal Norms

In a society that lacked understanding of sexual diversity, Tum often found himself subjected to judgmental looks, hurtful words, and disapproval. The pressure to conform to societal expectations led him to contemplate denying his true self, contemplating a life of self-deception. Looking back, Tum reflects on the sadness he felt during this period, realizing that authenticity was more important than fitting into societal moulds. 

Positive Transformation

Tum's journey took a positive turn as he decided to embrace his true identity and advocate for understanding within his community. Armed with a bachelor's degree in engineering, he became a beacon of positivity, seeking to enlighten those around him about the LGBTQIA+ community. Tum's dedication to doing good things and helping others understand and accept him for who he is exemplifies the transformative power of authenticity and compassion. 

RS as a Supportive Environment

RS played a pivotal role in Tum's personal and professional development. Tum emphasizes that RS is not just a workplace but a source of happiness where colleagues, including himself, can be their authentic selves. Tum expresses gratitude to his General Manager, Kanyathorn Poglad, and Line Manager, Sasinalan Boonsri, for providing the support and space necessary for him to be authentic.
