First Primary Care Clinic For The LGBT+ Community Opens In Mississippi
The University of Mississippi Medical Centre’s TEAM Clinic working with Rob Hill, State Director for Human Rights Campaign of Mississippi have joined forces and have opened a new LGBT+ health clinic, a place where they will always be accepted.
“It really does offer an opportunity for LGBTQ people to find a place where they know for sure the doctors and staff will be competent to their specific needs,” said Hill according to ‘WDAM’.
“Like access to HIV prevention drugs, testing, or health issues that affect the trans-community or the lack of competency around trans health.” he continued.
The clinic offers everything and creates a safe environment for the LGBT+ community to get the care they need, from wellness visits to hormonal treatment, STED screening and treatments and more.
Hill added: “This is a place they know they can talk about everything. There is a competency with the doctors and the staff around the issues LGBTQ people face.”
