Germany Set To Ban Conversion Therapy
The German Government Cabinet has approved plans of banning conversion therapy in the country. The practice will be banned for children under 18 years of age as well as vulnerable people with “diminished decision-making capabilities.” It will allow consenting adults to opt into the “treatment” ‘Forbes’ reports.
Recently, the Human Rights Campaign has advised the practice to be “dangerous and discredited.”
Under this new law in Germany, those advertising and doing the practice “could face up to a year in jail and fines of €30,000.”
