The EuroGames Bern 2023: Celebrating a Safe and Inclusive Space for Athletes

As MSD is a company committed to diversity and inclusiveness, we are proud to announce our commitment and support of The EuroGames Bern 2023, a premier multi-sports event that celebrates diversity in sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics. The event, held in Bern this year on 26 -29 July, provides a safe and inclusive space for athletes from around the world to come together and play.

Our sponsorship of the EuroGames Bern 2023 is a clear demonstration of our commitment to promoting equality and inclusiveness in our society, at the workplace, in sports and beyond.

We join everyone’s mission to create a more inclusive athletic environment, and we hope that our sponsorship will inspire others to do the same.


1 EuroGames Nijmegen 2022

Sports have a unique ability to bring people together and promote values across cultures and languages, making it all the more important that everyone has equal access to participate.


EuroGames Bern 2023 provides a safe and inclusive space for athletes from around the world to come together and play. Despite significant progress in recent years, the world of sports remains a challenging environment for some athletes who are discriminated against based on their gender identity or sexual orientation.

The EuroGames remain at the sports forefront for LGBTIQ inclusion and equality. the goals of EuroGames Bern 2023 include promoting inclusion and emancipation of LGBTIQ persons in sports, enabling and supporting the visibility of LGBTIQ athletes, combating homophobia and transphobia in sports, and demonstrating innovation by organizing competitions beyond the gender binary.

Expected to draw between 3,500 and 4,000 athletes, the EuroGames Bern 2023 will be Europe's largest LGBTIQ sporting event.


2 EuroGames Nijmegen 2022

Organized by the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation, the event is a European tradition with a rich history dating back to 1992. Past host cities include Rome, Copenhagen, Nijmegen, and Zurich, with Bern becoming the latest city to join this legacy.
