New Netflix Documentary Tells The Story Of A Hidden Lesbian Romance
A Secret Love is a Netflix documentary that depicts the decades-long romance between Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel. Terry Donahue’s story as one of the players in the women’s baseball league inspired the film A League Of Their Own and now, her “most captivating” story will be also shown in this documentary.
As the ‘Advocate’ reports, the two women have been together for 65 years, in the closet. “Facing the hardships of aging and illness, their love proves resilient as they enter the home stretch,” the documentary's description states.
The film is directed by Chris Bolan and produced by Ryan Murphy, Alexa L. Fogel, and Brendan Mason and follows the two women as they fall in love, come out to their conservative families and try to make it as professionals in Chicago.
