Russian Politician Wants To Ban Mattel's Gender Inclusive Dolls, Referring To Them As “Freak Dolls”
“State Duma deputy and notorious anti-gay crusader Vitaly Milonov wants to ban gender-inclusive Barbie dolls from Russia, referring to them as ‘freak dolls’”, reported The Moscow Times.
Recently, toy manufacturer Mattel announced the release of a gender-inclusive line of its iconic Barbie dolls to allow children ‘to express themselves freely.’
“They must be officially banned from import as freak dolls,” Milonov said in an interview.
“These dolls are the manifestation of an intolerant attitude toward people with genetic deformities, because a doll without gender is a person without gender — a sick person,” he continued.
As of yet, it remains unclear whether the gender-inclusive Barbie dolls will be sold in Russia.
