Tackling Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia and Transphobia in the Workplace
By The Pride @ Rapport Committee
1. Provide diversity and inclusion training for all levels of staff on a regular basis.
2. Have gender-neutral toilets so that everyone feels comfortable about where to go.
3. Host workshops and initiatives for your workforce to gain more exposure to the LGBTQ+ community. Exposure is a powerful tool to combat prejudice.
4. Make it clear to your employees from the ‘get go’ that your company has a “zero-tolerance” policy for homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia.
5. Get chatty - Don't make it taboo. It can be a very personal subject for some people and that's all right, but only by talking about it can we ensure we get everyone on the same wavelength: discrimination is not acceptable!
