What is it?

Set up by myGwork in 2020, WorkPride is a 5-day series of events aimed towards inclusive employers, graduates, professionals, and anyone who simply believes in achieving workplace equality. Taking place entirely virtually, each year WorkPride welcomes thousands of people from around the globe to discuss work conditions, share strategies, and explore options for optimizing diversity and inclusion.

The aim of the event is to regularly spark conversations around the treatment of LGBTQ, and to avoid complacency in the ongoing endeavor to achieve equality. Join us and thousands of professionals from our inclusive range of partners in this fantastic opportunity.

When is it?

The WorkPride 2023 event takes place between 19-23 June, Monday-Friday, morning until evening. With an enormous range of topics to discuss, each day and each individual event covers a different subject matter. From the value of education to the importance of inspiring creativity in the workplace, there are dozens of opportunities available to suit a variety of requirements and cater to different levels of diversity training.

The WorkPride 2023 Schedule

Monday, 19 June: Day One opens the WorkPride 2023 event with a particular spotlight on the impact of media and marketing. By making that initial shift of focus towards diversity and inclusion efforts, any company can start their journey towards fostering authentic allyship and creating a welcoming environment for all identities.

The first day of WorkPride is filled with interactive panels and events such as ‘How to Market to the LGBTQ+ Community’; ‘Starting a Career in Diversity & Inclusion – Everything You Need to Know; and ‘Aging with Grace and Dignity - a closer look at the older LGBTQ+ Population and their needs’. These are just a few of the topics covered on the opening day, all with the shared goal of allowing businesses to adapt to inclusive mindsets and flourish as a result.

Tuesday, 20 June: Day Two of the WorkPride 2023 event continues the discussion of improving workplace conditions, but with a focus on the value e-learning could provide. Education is key to adopting progressive ideals and fostering an environment of authentic equality, and a very simple, modern solution to that is to take part in e-learning opportunities. This day also features panels on understanding neurodiversity and what businesses can do more to support neurodiverse people.

Panels on this day include ‘How to Secure a Career in Tech’; ‘Women and Non-Binary People in the Workplace: Lessons in Inclusion’; and ‘Neurodiversity Awareness - How Can Businesses Do More?’. There are also opportunities for graduates to speak directly to graduate recruiters and discuss potential career paths.

Wednesday, 21 June: Day Three of our annual WorkPride event is all about allyship and maintaining authentic and visible support for the LGBTQ+ community. In the current climate, it is not enough to simply tolerate or show silent support for LGBTQ+ individuals – it is becoming increasingly important for that support to be vocal and proud. Our events on this day are dedicated to educating those who wish to show allyship to the LGBTQ+ community on the best ways to achieve this. The value of supporting colleagues with regards to their mental health is also an integral part of the discussions held on this day.

With panels including ‘Workshop: How to Be a Trans Ally’; ‘Bringing Your Authentic-self to Work – What Does that Really Mean in Practice?’; and How to Support Your Colleagues with Mental Health (HR Focus), each topic on this day is vital in the ongoing discussion on how to achieve workplace equality.

Thursday, 22 June: Day Four of WorkPride covers one of the biggest range of topics in the week. A particular highlight comes in the form of OUTstanding guest speaker Tona Brown, who will provide an exclusive discussion on her journey, her lived experiences and the lessons she has learned. Job hunting is also a major focus on this day, sparking discussions on how to safely navigate the search for inclusive work opportunities as an LGBTQ+ person.

Join us for panel discussions such as ‘How to Secure a Career in Law’; WorkPride Training Session: How to Effectively Job Hunt Online’; and ‘Allyship Around the World: A Global Perspective’. If you’re looking to pack in a range of educational and important topics in a unique format, all in one day, this is the perfect set of events to register for.

Friday, 23 June: Day Five of the WorkPride event wraps up the week by placing a spotlight on inspiring creativity in business and placing value on diverse experiences. Looking at branding, media figures and the impact of prominent LGBTQ+ social media influencers, this day is all about adapting a modern outlook and working towards the ever-inclusive future of workplace equality. Look out for our closing ceremony, which features a game of (inevitably chaotic) bingo with a drag queen!

The panel discussions on the final day of WorkPride include ‘How Can We Better Support People with Disabilities?’; ‘Employer Branding’; ‘Creative Queers’; and ‘Businesses: How to be Welcoming of LGBTQ+ Customers’. Finish off the week by taking advantage of these informative and unique topics, geared especially towards creating a safer, more inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ employees and customers alike.

With more businesses collaborating with myGwork than ever before, this is the perfect opportunity to jump onboard and check out what WorkPride has to offer. LGBTQ+ graduates and allies, professionals, inclusive employers, and just anyone who is looking to inspire diversity and inclusion standards in the business world need look no further than this week of interactive panels and activities.
