As an accomplished ESG and Sustainability Practitioner, I have extensive UK and international experience in sustainability and financial reporting standards. I led on the development and implementation of the strategy, policy, governance, and disclosure for ESG and financial reporting matters. I worked across the UK, European and US corporate sectors as well as for the professional accounting body, ACCA. Throughout my career, I have held various roles where I delivered major policy and reporting developments across ESG / sustainability reporting and technical accounting (IFRS, UK and US GAAP). This has included technical policy and standards development to embed best practice in ESG and sustainability across organisations. I led major developments and policy discussions to inform sustainability disclosures and accounting standards across the UK, Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, and the Americas. I worked in partnership with major accounting stakeholders, firms, and groups as well as with the UK Financial Reporting Council (FRC), HMRC, as well as the British and Irish Governments, European Commission, FASB, and the SEC. I influenced public policy in reporting and compliance while also providing in-depth training and technical support to colleagues and stakeholders. I enjoy building, training, and managing a team to deliver organisational objectives and be a positive advocate for policy development and disclosures in ESG reporting. I have also held roles within technical accounting fields including implementing new accounting standards such as IFRS 9 Financial Instruments, IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers, IFRS 16 Leases, and deployment of other IFRS and US GAAP changes. I have the interpersonal and communication skills to build long term relationships internally and externally while also promoting compliance, best practice, risk management, and policy development with major stakeholders. I often speak on my lived experiences of mental health disability and neurodiversity.
