Lesbian Couple Writes New LGBT+ History Book For A Wider Audience
The Gay Agenda is a new LGBT+ history book written by couple Ashley Molesso and Chessie Needham seeking to honor the stories of the LGBT+ community while sharing them with a wider audience.
As the ‘Advocate’ writes, The Gay Agenda is a “homage to those who fought before us, and a reminder of the important people and events in our history”. This book aims to serve as an introduction for young people to gain a wider understanding of the creation of the LGBT+ community and the general queer culture.
In the book, a wide spectrum of LGBT+ icons, events, symbols and cultural touchstones are depicted such as James Baldwin and Emma Goldman, the pink triangle and the rainbow flag, Harvey Milk and then figures of the present such as Ellen DeGeneres and Freddy Mercury.
